About the Project

Meking Buildtec was entrusted with the execution of a large-scale coal storage shed for JSW Steel – a key requirement for their thermal power operations. The shed had to meet high standards of structural safety, weather resistance, and environmental compliance. This project demonstrates Meking’s capability to deliver complex industrial infrastructure on time while maintaining engineering precision and safety.

Dome Structure Span – 140 Meters

This coal shed features a remarkable clear span of 140 meters, showcasing engineering precision to create large, unobstructed internal space ideal for bulk storage and material handling without the need for internal columns or supports.

Height – 38 Meters

Standing at a height of 38 meters, the structure ensures optimal vertical clearance for equipment movement, conveyor systems, and ventilation, making it a perfect fit for large-scale industrial applications.

Steel Tonnage – Approximately 1,750 Metric Tons

The entire structure was fabricated using approximately 1,750 metric tons of high-grade structural steel, ensuring robust performance under heavy-duty conditions and long-lasting durability in various environmental zones.

Structural Design – Arch-shaped Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) with Braced Frames

The design follows a modern arch-based pre-engineered format, supported by strategically placed braced frames, which enhances both lateral stability and aesthetic value while significantly reducing material usage and erection time.

Roofing and Cladding – Galvalume Sheets with Ventilation Ridge

The roofing is done using premium galvalume-coated steel sheets, known for corrosion resistance and long life. A ventilation ridge is incorporated for continuous airflow, helping control temperature and humidity inside the shed.
